Drivers have been warned not to park illegally in High Peak beauty spots after traffic woes once again clogged up the National Park’s roads.
Double parking around Mam Tor and Edale, as well as the Winnats Pass clearway where drivers are not allowed to stop unless there is an emergency, prompting Hope Valley traffic wardens into issuing tickets.
“Visitors continue to park inconsiderately in certain locations in the Valley and again tickets have been issued to offending vehicles by Derbyshire County Council’s civil enforcement officers,” said High Peak PCSO Linda Cook.
“If you travel to this location for your outdoor enjoyment, please be aware that if your vehicle is parked inconsiderately, you will receive a ticket.”
Police took the unusual step of closing Winnats Pass on Sunday January 12 after gritters and emergency vehicles couldn’t get through the lines of double-parked cars.
