Cops hunt van driver in five-vehicle chain reaction crash

Police are searching for a white van driver who they believe caused a chain reaction of damage following a crash on Thursday morning.

The incident between midnight and 12:35am saw the white Nissan van collide with a parked Mercedes A250 on Norfolk Street in the centre of Glossop.

The Mercedes in turn crashed into a Skoda Fabia, which then hit a silver Toyota Yaris, which bumped into a Hyundai Tucson.

Apart from the van – which fled the scene - all the vehicles were parked and there are no reports of any injuries.

Glossop police are keen to speak to any witnesses or see any CCTV or dashcam footage of the crash.

PCSO Joanne Turner said: “Did you see or hear anything at or around that time and location, or if you have any other information that can assist the Police with their enquiries, or if you have any CCTV or dashcam footage, then please contact Derbyshire Constabulary by any of the below methods quoting occurrence ref 25000115511.”
