Hot on the heels of the completion of the new Active Zone in Glossop’s Manor Park, High Peak Borough Council is now inviting people interested in managing the café to come forward.
The opportunity to tender is now open and applications can be submitted via the Council's portal below.
Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said: “The Council is now formally inviting anyone interested in this exciting business opportunity to come forward via the tender process.
“Manor Park café has been a much-loved part of the park for generations – a place where families, walkers, friends and visitors have come together over the years. It’s played an important role in the life of the park and the wider community, and we know how much people value it.
“That’s why it’s so important that we get this right for the whole community. We’re looking forward to seeing the ideas and visions people bring forward for the café, and how it can build on its long history while complementing the significant investment we’ve made in the park.
“There’s already been a lot of interest, and with the new Active Zone now open, this is a fantastic time for the café to re-open and thrive again as a welcoming hub for everyone who enjoys Manor Park.”
Investing in the High Peak’s parks and green spaces is a priority for the Council which has agreed a Parks Strategy and individual park management plans for improving and investing in these special places.
The most recent development at Manor Park – the Active Zone – has created an inclusive and accessible space that encourages people aged 14 and over to be active.
It complements the previous investment in new play areas and equipment for toddlers and older children.
