A host of comedians are coming together for a charity fundraising event to support Tameside Hospital's Critical Care Unit and show that perhaps laughter really is the best medicine.
Sarah Penkett, an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner at Tameside Hospital, is organising a comedy night at Dukinfield Golf Club on Friday, 13th November, to raise money for Tameside & Glossop NHS Charity.
The event will feature comedians Lou Conran, Alex Boardman, Seeta Wrightson, Eddy Brimson, and Hollie Noble, alongside a special performance from Black Sonic Revolver.
Money raised from the evening will support projects and equipment that enhance the experience of patients, families, and staff within the Critical Care Unit.
Sarah said "Working in critical care, I see every day the difference that additional charitable funding can make for our patients and their loved ones. I wanted to organise an event that would bring people together to have some fun and raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart."
Among the performers is award-winning comedian Lou Conran, who has more than 20 years experience on the comedy circuit and has appeared on BBC One, BBC Three, and Channel 4.
Doors open at 7pm and organisers are hoping the event will attract support from across Tameside and Glossop.
