An opportunity to explore local support and advice in person will be available at Holy Trinity Church, Ashton-under-Lyne, on Tuesday 18 November, when a special community event takes place from 2pm to 4pm.
Hosted by the Tameside Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (TASPB), the event brings together more than 20 local organisations and services, offering residents the chance to drop in, chat, and access information to help them stay safe, healthy, and well.
Those attending will be able to speak directly with representatives from a wide range of local partners, including Tameside Adult Social Care, Greater Manchester Police Fraud Prevention Team, Greater Manchester Fire Service, Healthwatch, Jigsaw, Diversity Matters Northwest, Active Tameside, Action Together, and many more.
Other participating organisations include Tameside Carers Centre, Citizens Advice, Age UK, Willow Wood Hospice, Change Grow Live, Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association, Be Well, and Tameside Population Health, among others. Whether residents are looking for support with health, wellbeing, finances, caring responsibilities, or community safety, there will be experts on hand to help.
The event forms part of National Adult Safeguarding Week (17–21 November), a national initiative highlighting how communities and organisations can work together to keep people safe and supported.
Councillor John Taylor, Executive Member for Adult Social Care, said: “By working in partnership, we are bringing support out into our communities for people to access. Please come along to this event to explore what is available to help keep you and your family safe and well.”
Residents are invited to simply drop in; no booking is required.
