Curzon move up to third

Curzon Ashton bounced back from their defeat to Hereford at the weekend with a 2-0 win away to Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday.

The Nash had to work hard to break down the hosts’ defence, and it took them until the 58th minute to do so, when Stefan Mols found space on the edge of the box before firing the ball into the bottom left corner.

This lead was doubled moments later when Mols scored his second of the evening, this time rifling the ball into the roof of the net after it dropped to him just inside the six-yard box.

“It’s a fantastic result for everyone involved,” said goal scorer Stefan Mols.

“We’ve all worked so hard for that but the back four especially were immense.

“We know they’re capable of keeping clean sheets which gives us attackers the license to go forward and chase goals- luckily for me I managed to get two tonight which I’m really pleased with.”

The win lifts the Nash up to third in the National League North table ahead of a tough test this weekend when they welcome Chester to the Tameside Stadium.
