A Tameside resident is set to take on a mammoth golfing challenge for a fantastic cause.
Dylan Monk (pictured left), from Droylsden, will be attempting to stay on the course from sunrise to sunset, with the aim of raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
The challenge – set to take place next Monday (June 22) at Fairfield Golf Club – will see the 32-year-old tee off at around 4am, and finish around 10pm.
Dylan is no stranger to these types of events, having tackled the 100-hole challenge in 2025, but plans to go one step further this time around.
“The aim is to get as close to 150 holes as possible, but it’s in the golfing god’s hands,” the Droylsden resident told the Reporter ahead of the event.
“It has to be walked, there’s no cheating, no buggies, so I’m sure my legs are gonna be killing at the end of it.”
Prostate Cancer UK is a charity close to Dylan’s heart, with his dear friend and fellow Fairfield member Ged (pictured right) currently living with the condition.
“The odds are scary,” Dylan told the Reporter.
“Prostate cancer affects one in every eight men, and one in every four black men.
“It’s not just about the donations, it’s about raising awareness, and if I can inspire at least one person to get checked I’ll be happy.”
So far, Dylan has raised over £800, and hopes the figure will continue to grow following the event.
