Roadworks across Greater Manchester

People have been told to ‘expect delays’ as roadworks take place on a series of key A roads across Greater Manchester. Areas affected include Ashton-In-Makerfield, Rochdale, Salford, Wigan, and Oldham.

Street works can be carried out for a number of reasons including changes being made to a road, emergency repairs, as well as work by utility companies. However a 2025 parliamentary transport committee report said: “They can also be a source of frustration for anyone trying to get around on roads and pavements by causing congestion and delays that harm the economy, disrupt transport services and limit access to high streets and businesses.”
