Step Up and Speak Out: Men's Walking Group Promotes Mental Health in Glossop

Fancy A Walk Mate, a men's-only walking group, is breaking barriers and fostering meaningful connections in the Glossop area.

Fancy A Walk Mate, a men's only walking group, is breaking barriers and fostering meaningful connections in the Glossop area. Designed to create a supportive and non judgmental environment, the group offers men a safe space to express themselves, celebrate achievements, or share life’s challenges during their walks—no matter how big or small.

Founder James Moon recently visited Tameside Radio studios to discuss the group’s mission with presenter Mark Andrews. Highlighting the importance of the initiative, James said:

"Walking together helps men find the courage to talk about what’s on their minds. It’s about being there for each other and recognising that no issue is too small to share. These conversations can truly transform lives."

Fancy A Walk Mate encourages men to take a step—both physically and emotionally—toward improving their mental health and well-being. The walks not only promote fitness but also provide a unique opportunity to connect with others in a positive and supportive setting.
