Glossop Mountain Rescue Team save the day at Bleaklow

Glossop Mountain Rescue team got called out to Bleaklow on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday afternoon at 3:15pm, the team were called to reports of four people lost near Snake Woodlands, with one suffering from a medical event. Due to the heavy fog and unknown location, the team began searching in the most likely areas according to information they had received.

As the team was being tasked, a second group of walkers struggling to find a safe route off Lawrence Edge and contacted the rescuers for help. Fortunately the team were able to ascertain their location and send people up to walk them off the hill safely.

The initial four were also found by a Glossop section and were helped off the hill before being left in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Fifteen team members were involved across both call-outs and the team were "stood down" at 7:30pm.
