Get Active with Move More Glossop: Inspiring Our Community to Move More, Every Day

In an initiative to encourage the people of Glossop to embrace a more active lifestyle, Move More Glossop is working to make physical activity accessible to all.

As part of the Greater Manchester wide That Counts! campaign, the partnership between community, sports, health, and council organisations is designed to get everyone moving, regardless of age, ability, or fitness level.

Our reporter, Mark Andrews, recently caught up with Helen Thornhill, one of the key figures behind Move More Glossop, to learn more about the initiative. During the interview, Helen shared the various fun and inclusive activities on offer in Glossop, aimed at making movement a natural part of everyday life. From walking groups and sports activities to free fitness sessions, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Helen passionately believes that no matter how small the effort—whether it’s a brisk walk, a bike ride, or a dance in the kitchen—it all counts towards a healthier lifestyle. With the support of local organisations and the community, Move More Glossop is helping residents discover new ways to stay active and boost their well-being.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can get involved, check out the full interview with Helen. It’s never been easier to get moving and make a positive change in your life!
