Winning local photographers are to help make Tameside Hospital more dementia-friendly.
Back in September last year, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the Tameside Reporter, put out a call for original photos of nine iconic local landmarks to display in Tameside Hospital’s dementia wards.
Photos of familiar sights can help people with dementia feel more orientated, evoke happy memories and bring comfort during their stay in hospital.
Now, from more than 200 entries from local photographers - both hobbyists and professionals - one winning photo for each location has been chosen.
Each winner was selected by a patient with dementia, ensuring that the photos on display reflect their preferences and helping to make the wards as welcoming as possible.
