A much-loved Hyde pub is raising a glass after its operators were recognised among the very best in the country.

Nicole Webb and Dave Parrott, who run The King William IV in Newton, Hyde, have been named ‘Best Centre of Excellence Operators’ at the Craft Union Pub Company’s annual awards, a national celebration of outstanding pub operators across the UK.

The prestigious accolade recognises Nicole and Dave’s exceptional contribution to the business, not just for running a thriving community pub, but for their work in training and mentoring new operators nationwide, helping them build long-term success in the industry.

Speaking after the award win, Nicole said: “We’re absolutely over the moon to win this award, it means the world to us. The King William IV is at the heart of our community, and we’re so proud to represent Hyde on a national stage. Helping new operators find their feet and watching them grow into confident, successful pub operators is really rewarding. We love what we do, and to be recognised for it is just incredible.”

Craft Union Managing Director Frazer Grimbleby praised the pair, saying: “Nicole and Dave are true ambassadors for what makes Craft Union special – passionate, community-focused, and always willing to help others. Their dedication, attention to detail and commitment to supporting new operators have set the benchmark for excellence across the business.”

The Craft Union Operator Awards are held annually to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and community spirit of the company’s operators, who go the extra mile for their customers and neighbourhoods.

Since its launch in 2015, Craft Union, part of the Stonegate Group, has supported more than 650 pubs across England and Wales, providing self-employed operators with training, guidance, and resources to help them run outstanding community venues.
