Hundreds attended a highly moving Interfaith Peace Vigil recently at St. Peter's Church in Ashton.
The special service of prayers, readings and hymns was given by the Rev. Daniel Ramble (C of E Area Dean of Oldham and Tameside) and Canon Jean Hulston, with the participation of members of the local Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox and Ukrainian Catholic parishes.
Local communities of all faiths were thanked for their overwhelming support for the Ukrainian people with Tameside Council Chief Executive Steven Pleasant giving a vote of thanks at the close of the service.
