Crowds flocked to enjoy the fun of Stalybridge's annual carnival.
Organising secretary Ian Cochrane says it is important to recognise that the Carnival is organised purely by a group of local volunteers, and funded by the hard work and fundraising of these volunteers who give their time freely to plan and organise the event.
He said: "On behalf of the Festival Committee I would like to thank the thousands of people from Stalybridge and beyond who come along and support our Carnival, which this year is celebrating its 48th anniversary. It is clearly an integral part of the culture and heritage of our town and is fantastic to see so many groups, schools/nurseries and local businesses taking part in the parade."
This year’s Parade started from the Assembly Point on Bayley Street at 1.00pm before making its way through the town centre.
There was also a Family Fun Day in Cheetham Park starting from 11.00am which will included a large fun fair, artisan and community stalls, hot food stalls and live entertainment.
