Students and staff at Droylsden Academy are today celebrating another exceptional set of GCSE results, continuing the strong trend of academic success that has seen the school recognised nationally by the Secretary of State for its outcomes.
The Class of 2026 have achieved an impressive set of results across a range of subjects, building on the academy's years of sustained improvement and excellence. The results reflect the dedication, resilience, and hard work shown by students throughout their time at the school, as well as the relentless commitment of staff to ensuring every student achieves their full potential.
Strong performances were seen across the curriculum, with students achieving highly in both core and foundation subjects. These outcomes further reinforce Droylsden Academy's reputation in the local community and beyond.
Headteacher Mr Mayell praised students and staff for their accomplishments:
"I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our students. These results are a reflection of the hard work, determination, and commitment shown by the Class of 2026 throughout their time at Droylsden Academy.
“They also demonstrate the power of our culture of 'Be Here to Belong'. We believe that when students feel a sense of belonging, are supported to succeed, and are challenged by high expectations, they can achieve remarkable things. Today's results are yet another example of that philosophy in action.
“Our students leave us not only with excellent qualifications but also with the confidence, character, and ambition to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond. We are enormously proud of them and look forward to seeing all they achieve in the future."
“The academy would like to extend its sincere thanks to parents, carers, governors, and the wider community for their continued support. Their partnership with the school has played a vital role in helping students reach this important milestone.
“As students prepare to move on to sixth form, college courses, apprenticeships, and a range of further education opportunities, the school wishes them every success for the future. Congratulations to the Class of 2026.”
