'Prolific burglar' tasered and arrested in Denton

A man suspected of being a ‘prolific burglar' has been arrested in Denton after being tasered while trying to escape capture.

Tameside Police detained the 40-year-old on Hyde Road at around 7pm on Thursday night.

He remains in custody for questioning on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage.

A statement from GMP says: “Anyone with information that may help with our investigation is asked to call 101 direct quoting incident 2863 of 22/08/2024. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
