Motorists are being warned about the temporary closure of part of a busy Tameside road which could affect their journeys.
Matley Lane in Stalybridge will be closed between the junctions of Blundering Lane and Harrop Edge Road.
It was due to be closed from Monday 2 August but Tameside Council's Highways team has said it will now come into force on Wednesday 4 August due to resourcing issues.
It will remain closed until 3 September.
The closure is to allow essential gas main replacement works to be carried out.
A diversion will be in place on site for drivers to follow.
