Organisers cancel tomorrow's event after yesterday's heavy rain
Tomorrow's Mottram Show has been called off amid health and safety concerns after yesterday's heavy rain.
The huge historic event at the Old Hall Showground was once again set to attract thousands of visitors with agricultural displays and showjumping competitions and much more.
But yesterday's downpours have left the Mottram showground waterlogged.
In a post on their Mottram Show Facebook page organisers have announced: "Due to the ground being waterlogged and health and safety concerns we have no option but to cancel this year's show (August 18)."
It is not the first time the show, founded in 1904, has fallen victim to the weather, with the cancellation set to leave organisers many thousands of pounds out of pocket.
