It was a poignant occasion at Mossley AFC's Seel Park as scores of families came together to remember lost loved ones at a special event.
The 'Mossley Remembers' day was organised by Mossley Community Association and supported by Mossley Town Council and many other local groups.
People in attendance on a sunny Sunday afternoon (5 September) were entertained by Mossley Band before the event began at 2pm, then welcomed by Dave Jones and a stunning song from Kyla Brox and poem from Mavis Morris.
Jess Peel of Team England performed a moving dance on the pitch, and Father David Warner, the Vicar of Mossley, spoke to the crowd.
Good Vibrations sang and the names of the departed were read, after which 20 white doves were released. After singing Jerusalem, accompanied by the band, everyone moved inside for refreshments.
Father Warner said: "The service was a celebration and a memorial, a chance to come together and to share, to be with others who know the pain of loss. Thank you to all involved in the organisation, especially to Mossley Football Club for hosting the event."
