A teenager has been released by police under investigation after being arrested in connection with a moped being stolen at knife point on a canal tow path in Ashton.
The 18-year-old man, who hasn't been named by police, was arrested on Monday (16 September) following an incident on Crescent Road.
His arrest was just one of 11 across Greater Manchester in the first 72 hours of a new operation called Operation Sceptre, which has been launched by Greater Manchester Police this week.
It's seen officers conducting weapon sweeps and working with schools in an effort to reduce knife crime across the borough.
Police will continue to provide targeted patrols and more in the coming weeks.
