In February 2022, a 24-year-old woman, later named as Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin from Ashton-Under-Lyne, was reported missing by her family and an investigation was launched to locate her.
In March 2022, officers arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of murder but he was later bailed pending further enquiries.
Following further investigations from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team, a 61-year-old man has now been charged for Alisha’s murder.
David Alex Taylor, of Oak Avenue, Willington, in Durham, has been remanded in custody.
He will appear at Manchester Crown Court today, March 14.
