A 43-year-old man has been charged after a man was attacked with a hammer on a street in Dukinfield.
Greater Manchester Police were called shortly after 12:05am on Saturday (22 January) to a report of an assault with a hammer on Cheetham Hill Road.
Emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
John Verhiest, of Sandringham Drive, Dukinfield, has been charged with a Section 18 Assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Tameside Magistrates' Court on Monday (24 January).
