Hyde man charged with theft from car

A man has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle following a foot chase with police last month.

47-year-old Moududur Rahman of Newton Hall Court, Hyde, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday December 18, and has been bailed to appear before Manchester Magistrates’ Court on January 30. 

GMP’s Tameside South Team have also released December’s crime figures for Newton, which include: 

4x shoplifting 
4x theft from a vehicle, with one being the theft of a registration plate 
3x residential burglaries 
3x possession of drugs
