Dementia Community Workshop Fully Booked as Local Demand Grows Across Tameside

A free Dementia Community Workshop being delivered by Home Instead at Hyde Town Hall on Thursday 27th February 2026 has now fully booked, reflecting growing interest across the borough in understanding dementia and how communities can better support those affected.

The workshop, running from 10:30am to 12:30pm, is designed to gently increase awareness of dementia, challenge common misconceptions, and offer practical, everyday guidance on supporting people living with dementia. It brings together family carers, community groups and volunteers, and customer-facing organisations who play an important role in local community life.

Representatives from the Alzheimer’s Society will also be attending the session to offer friendly support, share information and help signpost attendees to further advice and resources.

Speaking about the workshop, Rajan Panasar, Franchise Owner at Home Instead, said:

“Being part of a team that goes beyond care and actively supports its community is incredibly meaningful. Delivering this Dementia Community Workshop is a powerful reminder of why this work truly matters.”

Due to the strong response, Home Instead has confirmed that it is planning to deliver additional Dementia Community Workshops across Tameside, helping more residents, groups and organisations to take part in future sessions.

Why Home Instead Is Delivering the Training

Home Instead provides relationship-led, person-centred care to older adults, supporting people to live independently and with dignity in their own homes. Alongside providing care, Home Instead works closely with local communities to improve understanding of ageing and dementia, reduce isolation, and encourage inclusive, supportive environments.

These Dementia Community Workshops form part of that wider commitment, helping local people feel more confident, informed and connected, and supporting the development of more dementia-friendly communities across Tameside.
