Charity Summer Ball set to bring glamour and purpose to Ashton Moss

A charity summer ball in aid of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is set to bring a touch of 1960s flair to Village Ashton Moss on Saturday, June 6, 2026, as guests gather for an evening of celebration, remembrance and fundraising.

Organised by BTL Contracts Ltd and Hyde Park House, the event is being held in memory of Liam Handley and is expected to draw supporters keen to enjoy a themed night while backing a cause with deep meaning for many families.

The event, which begins at 6:30pm, has been styled around an Austin Powers-inspired fancy dress theme, encouraging guests to “swing back” to the groovy sixties. Organisers are inviting attendees to dress boldly and embrace the spirit of the era, with purple and gold colour schemes recommended, though black tie is also listed as an option for those who prefer a more traditional look. The mix of retro glamour and formal attire is designed to give the evening a distinctive atmosphere, combining playful style with the feel of a classic charity gala.

Guests can expect a full evening of entertainment, food and socialising. The ticket price includes a three-course meal, a welcome glass of fizz or beer on arrival, and a night of music and dancing. The organisers are promising a lively event with plenty of opportunities to enjoy time with friends, colleagues and fellow supporters while raising money for the charity’s work.

All proceeds from the ball will go to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting people affected by lung cancer and funding related awareness and research efforts. By linking the event to the charity, the organisers hope to turn an evening of entertainment into a meaningful contribution to a widely recognised health cause. The tribute to Liam Handley adds a personal dimension to the event, making it not only a fundraiser but also a moment of remembrance for those who knew him.

Tickets are priced at £65 per person, with the option to reserve a table of 10 for groups attending together. For those planning a night out with family, friends or workmates, the table option offers a chance to make the event feel more social and celebratory. Organisers say the combination of themed dress, dinner and dancing should make for a memorable night, while also helping to raise important funds for charity.

Those wishing to attend or seeking more information are asked to contact heidi@btlcontracts.co.uk. With its mix of nostalgia, community spirit and fundraising purpose, the summer ball is being presented as more than just a themed night out, it's an opportunity to enjoy a special evening while supporting an important cause.
