Belle Vue gain new aces

The Belle Vue Aces have sent a powerful message to their Premiership rivals after revealing the final five members of their new-look 2020 team at the club’s Christmas Cracker event on December 12.

Confirmed starters Brady Kurtz and Peter Kildemand will be joined by Jaimon Lidsey, Jye Etheridge, Steve Worrall, Dan Bewley and Charles Wright in Belle Vue’s line-up for next year.

Lidsey, Worrall and Bewley all made the cut from the Class of 2019 to return to the National Speedway Stadium while British Champion, and local man, Charles Wright makes his Manchester debut.

And former Aces rider Etheridge is heading back to Belle Vue having missed out on a full-time team spot last year but still impressing club bosses with a temporary stint at the end of the season.

Belle Vue’s Director of Speedway and Aces Team Manager, Mark Lemon, said: “We’re really excited about this team. They’re quite a young bunch with a good blend of styles and experience and will gel well together.

“Jaimon was very impressive in his first season in the Premiership. In only a short period of time, he has matured into a fantastic rider but there is still plenty of untapped potential that we want to help draw out.

“Jye has development greatly over the last 12 months with Berwick. He’s an exciting rider and we felt it was the right to bring him back to the Premiership to further his development and improve on his starting average.

“Steve is woven into the fabric of this club, a solid performer who’s out to prove himself next year by being more consistent. We know of just what he’s capable, and we’re looking forward to seeing much more of that.

“Dan’s recovery throughout 2019 was nothing short of astonishing. It was a season of perseverence with him and for that to come full circle with his breaking the track record was amazing.

“Charles is a real coup for the club. He’s had an amazing season and was a man very much in demand, and we’re delighted to have finally secured his signature for our Premiership campaign.”
