Crime scene as police and forensic teams gather evidence.

Two men have been arrested in the early hours of this morning as police continue their investigation into a shooting at a property in Oldham.

Officers were called to the address on School House Road at around 1pm on Sunday (February 15, 2026) following reports of serious criminal damage caused by gunshots fired towards the window of the house. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Two men – one in his 40s and another in his 20s – were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following raids at addresses on Chapel Road and Vicarage Street early today. Both remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Rachel Smith from the Major Incident Team said: “This was a reckless attack in the early hours of the Sunday morning, and we have been working hard to establish the full facts in the moments before we were called.

“Our investigation has led us to addresses on Chapel Road and Vicarage Street in Oldham, where we have arrested two people of interest.

“We believe that this is a targeted attack, we understand and share the local concern that this incident may cause to those living near to the address on School House Road, the whole community in Oldham and the rest of Greater Manchester.

“Extra patrol officers have been deployed in and around the local area both on foot and in patrol cars to provide that extra layer of community reassurance. If you have any concerns about this incident, we are happy to speak with you and listen to any of your queries.

“It is so important if you have any information to come forward and speak to us, whether it is CCTV footage, doorbell footage, photos, or descriptions of the suspects or events, we would ask that you report it to us directly."
