Two people were arrested this morning (Wed) as Operation Vulcan took part in a fresh round of raids targeting drug-dealing in Derker.
The warrants – conducted simultaneously at 6am – saw rapid entries by the Vulcan team.
The work forms part of the team’s work tackling exploitation and drugs supply in the community and comes as the deployment marks six months of its problem-solving action.
The pair – both men, aged 16 and 18 – were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Both remain in custody for questioning.
During the searches, cash, electronic devices, and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized for further analysis.
Vulcan's deployment in Derker follows on from work that has previously been conducted in Cheetham Hill and Piccadilly Gardens.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Julien, from GMP’s Operation Vulcan Team, said: “This morning’s work was aimed at tackling drugs supply, exploitation, and the damage that these things combined can impose on communities.
“Over the last six months, we have clamped down on drug gangs and made it clear that their behaviour and actions will simply not be tolerated, and we will seek them out wherever they are.
“Today’s work has seen further disruption to suspected criminality, and we will continue with our disruption activity in the coming weeks and months, while working to cement Derker as a safer place for all.”
