Police stop-and-search powers have been extended following triple stabbings in Oldham on Thursday night.
The Section 60 order, which covers a large area of Chadderton, will now run until 6.30pm this evening (Saturday, February 14).
All three men who were injured in the attacks have received hospital treatment and their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Two arrests have been made, and enquiries are still on-going – a heavy police presence will remain within the area.
Officers want to assure the community that knife crime has no place within Oldham, or Greater Manchester.
The neighbourhood teams - alongside the dedicated force‑wide knife crime team, Operation venture continue to make many arrests, seizures and proactively disrupt those who wish to commit offences with weapons.
Anyone with any information regarding the events of Thursday is urged to contact police by calling 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
