A shoplifter was caught red-handed after stealing around £1,000 worth of goods from Tesco Store in Greenfield.
Whilst on patrol, the Saddleworth PCSOs were called to the supermarket on Chew Valley Road, at around 8.52am today (Friday), following reports that a man had entered the store over two days and stole large amounts of goods including Anchor butter, loaf of bread and Lurpak butter.
Sgt Connor Brook from the Saddleworth and Lees Policing Team, said: “The suspect was quickly intercepted and detained by the team and arrested for two counts of shoplifting.
“This is a testament to your neighbourhood policing teams robust response to crime in your area and our commitment to keeping Saddleworth & Lees a safe place.”
