Oldham’s WH Smith has closed today marking the end of the town’s only Post Office.
The stationery store inside Spindles shopping centre rolled its shutters down for the final time at 12pm, as it was deemed no longer sustainable to continue.
A spokesperson for the shop said: “We can confirm that the store will be closing as it is no longer sustainable to continue to trade from this location and the decision has been taken to close the store because of the forthcoming lease expiry.
“We are disappointed to be losing our presence in Oldham and we would like to thank all our customers for their support and for shopping with us.”
