Lived experience recovery set to hold next event

A local lived experience recovery group is holding an event in a bid to make recovery visible and reduce the stigma attached to it.

Project Free, which is the Greater Manchester arm of Red Rose Recovery, aims to make recovery visible, reduce the stigma that is too often attached to those in recovery from alcohol or drug misuse and addiction.

As part of this, they are hosting local recovery forums which offers real support, breaking barriers to recovery and wellbeing with help from other collaborators from the world of recovery and guest speakers.

Another huge part of their core values is empowerment. They do not promise to give anyone recovery, but do their best to support anyone who wants it in order for them to find it for themselves.

The forum, which is being held at Sholver Community Centre, Sholver Lane, Moorside, Oldham on Thursday, September 24 from 10am-2.30pm, is packed with entertainment, food and refreshments .
