Tameside Toy Appeal 2026

Each year, local charity Action Together facilitates the annual Tameside Toy Appeal and this year it’s back to support the families in need across Tameside for 2026!

For many of the families living in communities across Tameside, this Christmas will be tougher than ever. The pressure to choose between ‘heating or eating’ is a heartbreaking reality, and for some, the thought of gifts under the tree feels completely out of reach.

That’s where you come in. Your donation to the Tameside Toy Appeal 2026  can make sure local children living in poverty wake up to something special on Christmas morning. Every toy, every gift, every act of kindness makes a real difference.

Santa’s sleigh is back on the road, and he needs a little help from Tameside’s Christmas elves! We’re calling onto YOU - our amazing community - to donate new toys and gifts for children aged 0–18 who might otherwise go without this Christmas.

Together, we can bring hope, joy, and a little Christmas magic to families who need it most.

How can you help?

Donations are needed of new and unwrapped toys/gifts for children aged 0-18. The appeal will run from Monday 9 November 2026 until Friday 11 December 2026 (which will be the last day donations will be accepted). Just drop off your gift at one of our dedicated drop-off locations.

Visit the website here: https://www.actiontogether.org.uk/tameside-toy-appeal-2026 for location details of all drop-off sites. Every gift donated to the Tameside Toy Appeal will be given to a child in Tameside whose family is experiencing poverty.

Independent Collections

If you would like to host a private Tameside Toy Appeal 2026 collection for your employees, volunteers, students, service users, etc please email Alexandra Angell: alexandra.angell@actiontogether.org.uk

Arrangements can be made for a volunteer 'Toy Taxi' driver to collect your donations and take them to the nearest Tameside Children's Centre.

Or, if your organisation/group/school plan to carry out some festive fundraising for this year's Appeal you can donate any money that you raise directly to the dedicated Just Giving Page.

All monies raised will be used to purchase gifts for the categories of children where the least donations have been received. The Just Giving page will remain open for donations until Tuesday 23 December 2026.
