Oldham Mayor wants to help people celebrate key milestones

The Mayor of Oldham is launching a campaign to help celebrate those in the borough who are soon going to be reaching important milestones in their lives.

Cllr Ginny Alexander says she would like to pay tribute to those who will be celebrating their 100th birthday this year or couples who are celebrating their ruby, golden or diamond wedding anniversary.

Anyone who can help is asked to email ginny.alexander@oldham.gov.uk or send a private message to The Mayor of Oldham Facebook page.

Cllr Alexander said: "Please get in touch if you know anybody who meets this criteria so that I can, on behalf of the good people of Oldham, give them our very best wishes. I would love to visit as many as of you as possible!"

The team they would have had to displace from the play-off spots (there was only one) was Salford City.
