SPARK Oldham CIC celebrates 3rd birthday with local community

Local community and staff come together to celebrate SPARK Oldham's 3rd birthday.

SPARK Oldham CIC celebrated its 3rd birthday with a special event, marking an important milestone of supporting local families and communities across Oldham and Greater Manchester.

The celebration, held on Tuesday (October 13) at Grains Bar Hotel, brought together staff, volunteers, local families, community organisations, businesses and supporters to celebrate SPARK’s journey and achievements over the past three years.

Guests were joined by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Pam Byrne who attended the celebration to recognise the work SPARK continues to do within local communities.

Kim Rogers, Founder of SPARK Oldham CIC, said: “It was fantastic to bring everyone together to celebrate SPARK Oldham’s 3rd birthday.

“The last three years have been an incredible journey, and we have continued to grow by listening to what local people need and developing our services around our community. It was lovely to see so many of the people who have supported us over the years come together to celebrate this milestone with us.”

SPARK Oldham has continued to develop its range of services and activities in response to the needs of local families and communities including early-years and childhood support, parenting groups, cost-of-living support, emergency food and clothing, youth activities, holiday programmes for children receiving free school meals, women’s groups, men’s groups, volunteering opportunities and the Young Voices programme, alongside the organisation’s community charity shop.

One volunteer who has been involved with SPARK Oldham said: “It has been lovely to be part of SPARK Oldham’s journey and to see how much the organisation has grown over the past three years. The birthday celebration was a great opportunity to bring everyone together and recognise the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to support local families and the wider community.”

SPARK Oldham CIC thanked all staff, volunteers, local businesses, community organisations, partners, funders and supporters who have contributed to its work over the past three years.

The Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Byrne added: “When I think of SPARK, I think of energy and light. I’ve been incredibly impressed by the breadth of work delivered and the difference it makes to people of all ages across our community. It’s inspiring to see an organisation bringing people together, creating opportunities and helping people to thrive.”
