Oldham Mountain Rescue Team handled two call-outs on Monday, with weather conditions still causing problems for emergency services and other road users.
The first came at lunchtime, with a request from North West Ambulance Service to attend an address in Lees where an elderly patient had an ambulance in attendance but they could not access the property in their own vehicle.
While the crew accessed on foot, the team assessed the conditions, and after discussions with the paramedics, decided the best course of action was to leave the patient at home until the snow melted and an ambulance could get to the house.
Following another request from NWAS, the team assisted a crew in reaching a remote farmhouse to treat an elderly man who had fallen at home.
After their assessment, it was decided to take him to hospital, and they transported him down a snow covered track to the waiting ambulance.
Eight team members were involved for around four hours.
