A 17-strong squad from Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist with a walker who had injured their leg on their usual loop near Blackstone Edge.
The weather on Blackstone Edge can be notoriously bleak, but despite it being a wet and windy day when the incident happened on Saturday lunchtime, the casualty was in good condition upon the team’s arrival, with plenty of warm layers and a waterproof jacket.
Together with North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, the team's casualty carers assessed and packaged the casualty for a short stretcher carry off the hill.
OMRT said thanks to Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust for their assistance and their personnel were involved for an hour and 30 minutes.
