Local charity invites people to annual Celebration Ball

People are encouraged to get their ball gowns and black ties ready for a celebratory occasion filled to the brim with festivities and class.

Pennine Mencap is a local charity that supports and provides opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism within the Tameside, Oldham and wider Greater Manchester community.

They are gearing up for their fourth annual Celebration Ball and are inviting people to make it a date, with this year’s event set to be a cut above the rest.

The 2026 Celebration Ball takes place on Saturday, November 21, with guests invited to show their support by being part of the magic in the gorgeous Inspiration Suite at the Village Hotel, Hyde.

The annual event is about bringing everyone in the community together to celebrate the difference Pennine Mencap makes to disabled and neurodiverse adults in and around the borough.

It will include great food and bubbly which will be available throughout the evening. Pink and green décor will adorn the room to match the charity’s brand colours, along with a red carpet providing a touch of showbiz glamour.

Seasoned compere and comedian J Bryan will host the event, delivering laughs and guiding guests through the many aspects of a packed evening. Live entertainment will begin with vocalist and guitarist Hattie Moors; there will be a special group performance by Pennine Mencap’s own Rhodes Bank Choir, and the evening will close with a full set of party tunes and an impressive light show from Sparkarama.

Amongst all the entertainment, there will also be a chance to hear real stories and insights that highlight the importance of the charity's work in the community.

The charity has made sure that the price of a ticket has remained at £40 per person, matching their previous Celebration Ball events. Ticket price includes the choice of a seasonal home-cooked turkey dinner with all the trimmings, or a delectable Mediterranean vegetable Wellington.

Each year the event features a unique live auction to give attendees the chance to bid on a selection of sought-after prizes. These range from upscale experience days to acclaimed signed merchandise to ensure there is something for everyone in the catalogue of prizes. There is also a raffle that offers another chance for guests to be in it to win it for one of those sought-after items.

“The Celebration Ball is a unique opportunity for the charity to recount the incredible work that has been delivered that year as well as raising crucial funds, all whilst attending an evening to remember”, Tom Morris, the Activity Coordinator from the Charity.
