A local football coach is helping children across Oldham and Greater Manchester build confidence and enjoy sport through inclusive SEND friendly small-group football sessions.
Marc Jackson, founder of Beyond the Game Coaching Academy, runs weekly classes in the Failsworth and Middleton areas aimed at supporting children who may struggle in traditional football environments.
The academy specialises in working with young people who benefit from smaller, calmer sessions, including children with autism, ADHD and other additional needs.
Sessions are intentionally kept small to ensure every child receives individual attention and can develop at their own pace.

Beyond The Game Coaching Academy has been running locally since 2025 and has already helped a number of children grow in confidence, develop social skills and enjoy football in an environment where they feel comfortable and supported.
Marc said: “Football should be something every child feels able to enjoy. Many of the young people we work with just need a little more support, patience and a calmer environment to build their confidence.
“The aim of Beyond The Game isn’t just about football skills, it’s about helping young people feel comfortable, make friends and believe in themselves through sport.”
Sessions currently take place throughout the week at the Co-Op Academy, Failsworth and in Bowlee, Middleton, including small group development sessions for younger players, specialised goalkeeper sessions and inclusive football sessions for children who benefit from a calmer learning environment.
Marc added: “We are certainly looking for more young people to join! I hope we can help as many families as possible!”
