Glossopdale Together Alliance to attend "historic" march

Glossopdale Together Alliance is sending a coach to London on Saturday 28th March to take part in the March for Love and Unity against Hate under the banner of “Together We Stand, Divided We Fall."

The march has been organised by the Together Alliance - a national group which has emerged over recent months as a coalition of what they describe as “virtually every well-known progressive organisation you can think of including church, campaign, and community groups, trade unions and charities, as well as a number of celebrity figures". Organisers say this groundswell is intended to challenge “hateful rhetoric currently being perpetuated by the Far Right”, and to demonstrate that “this rhetoric does not reflect what our communities really think.” 

The Together Alliance website details how large and well-organised the event is expected to be, with the march being described as “anticipated to go down in history as a powerful positive statement.” 

The Glossopdale Together Alliance coach is now full, although organisers are aware of other coaches leaving from Manchester, Chesterfield, Matlock, and Sheffield, with full details available on the main Together Alliance website. The Glossop group will be in the block for Charities, NGO and Climate which will start from Zone G on Park Lane at 1pm, and say that anyone attending independently who wishes to join them should email glossoplabourclub@gmail.com with their name and number to join a WhatsApp group set up for the day so that people can easily track them. 

Glossopdale Together Alliance was created by a range of local groups in response to anti-refugee rhetoric. It is hosted by Glossop Labour Club and, according to the organisers, is developing actions “to both support refugees and to challenge the inaccurate and hateful messages that are being widely perpetuated.”
