A paedophile has been jailed after one of his victims told family members about being abused.
Liam Tyrrell, 29, of St James Court in Buxton, but formerly of Glossop, sexually assaulted a boy several times as well as slapping and kicking him.
Tyrrell also physically assaulted two other children and sought to control and coerce his partner.
Although he initially denied two counts of sexual assault, three of cruelty to a person under 16 and one charge of controlling and coercive behaviour, he pleaded guilty on the day of his trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.
He was later sentenced at Bolton Crown Court to two years and nine months in prison, given a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a restraining order, and must sign the sex offenders register.
Detective Constable Danielle Lynch from the Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Tyrrell’s behaviour towards his ex-partner and these children has devastated their lives.
“As well as the physical scars, they all continue to have to deal with the mental and emotional trauma he caused them.
“This case has been hanging over their heads for quite some time, so I am glad it has now been finalised and Tyrrell is behind bars for these crimes.”
