Conservative Clubs from across Tameside, Oldham and the wider Northwest came together last weekend for the Northwest Area Conservative Clubs Advisory Committee’s 53rd Annual Gala Dinner, held at the prestigious West Tower in Ormskirk.
The event brought together representatives from a number of local clubs including Guide Bridge Conservative Club, Waterloo and Taunton Conservative Club, The Blue Club Chadderton, Uppermill Conservative Club, along with many others from across the region.
The Northwest Area Conservative Clubs Advisory Committee is part of the Association of Conservative Clubs Ltd, a national organisation representing around 850 clubs across the UK. These include Conservative, Constitutional, Beaconsfield, Salisbury and Unionist clubs, with approximately 130 based in the Northwest of England.
The annual gala provided an opportunity for club members to reflect on achievements over the past 12 months and to celebrate the resilience of clubs during what has been a challenging period for the hospitality sector.
Northwest Area Chairman Leon Tamcken said: “We selected the stunning West Tower for this year’s gala due to its central location. It was a chance for our clubs to come together, relax, network and celebrate. It was brilliant to see our Tameside and Oldham clubs represented.”
Guests enjoyed an evening of dining, entertainment and networking in the historic surroundings of West Tower, a popular venue for events across the region.
The Advisory Committee expressed its thanks to Dukinfield-based female vocalist Macy, who provided the evening’s entertainment, as well as to Dransfield’s Fruit Machines for sponsoring the prize draw. Appreciation was also extended to West Tower for hosting the event.
Organisers said the evening highlighted the continued importance of local clubs as social hubs within their communities and looked ahead with optimism to the year ahead.
