Laurus Ryecroft Sixth Form is celebrating an exceptional year of university offers, reflecting the academic ambition, dedication and hard work of its students and staff.
Two thirds of all university applicants have secured offers from Russell Group universities, demonstrating the Sixth Form’s strong academic culture and commitment to excellence.
This year has also seen remarkable success for students applying to University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. Of those who submitted Oxbridge applications, 75% were invited to interview, and two thirds of these students have gone on to receive offers from one of the two world-renowned institutions.
In addition, the Sixth Form is proud to announce that a student has received multiple offers to study Veterinary Medicine, one of the most competitive university courses in the UK, marking another significant achievement for the cohort.
These outstanding results highlight the impact of Laurus Ryecroft’s comprehensive and personalised support for post-18 pathways. Through the Life After Laurus programme, all students receive expert advice and guidance on university applications, apprenticeships and alternative destinations, ensuring they are well prepared to progress confidently to the next stage of their education.
Students aspiring to Oxford or Cambridge can enrol in the Sixth Form’s dedicated Oxbridge Elective. The programme offers supervisions focused on super-curricular exploration, detailed guidance on the application and interview process, visits from university admissions teams, and an annual Sixth Form trip to Oxford and Cambridge.
Those aiming to pursue Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science benefit from the specialised MDV Elective. This pathway provides tailored support including mentoring through Medics&Me, expert preparation for entrance examinations, and bespoke guidance throughout the application journey.
To further strengthen interview performance, all applicants for courses requiring interviews receive a one-to-one voice coaching session with professional voice and presence coach Tom Morrison, helping students build confidence and present themselves at their very best.
Director of Sixth Form, Tom Mansfield, said: “I am incredibly proud of our students. Their success is thoroughly well deserved and a testament to their hard work and resilience. I am deeply grateful to our staff for the exceptional support they provide, and I am delighted to see our students being unapologetically aspirational.”
Head of School, Reece Carling, commented: “Our Sixth Form students continue to impress us with their drive and ambition, and these university offers reflect the extraordinary effort they put into their studies. Well done everyone.”
