Jude from Tameside, Manchester, recently secured two Guinness World Records.
At just three-years-old, he is the youngest person to perform two trick shots, which he said was his favourite type of shot to play in the game of snooker.
On 1st September 2025, Jude was the youngest person to make a snooker double shot, followed by being the youngest person to make a pool bank shot in October the same year.
A snooker double shot and a pool bank shot are difficult tricks that many adults find challenging to do. These tricks are when the object ball hits one or more rails – known as cushions – before entering the pocket.
Jude was introduced to the competitive precision sports of pool and snooker by his father, Luke, who recognised his talent in May 2025. The three-year-old started off on a small pool table before gradually scaling up to reach the full-sized pool and snooker tables, which he took to like a “duck to water”.
Jude holds a unique skill because, since being introduced to the sports, he has been taught nothing but the basics to ensure he doesn’t miscue. It is believed by many who see him play that he has a “natural ability”.
Away from pool and snooker, Jude is able to quickly pick up a variety of activities. Luke happily told us how Jude is a very sporty child, enjoying swimming, football, boxing, and more challenging games such as table tennis, proving that there is no obstacle to stop this superman from doing what he loves!
Pool and snooker are both considered competitive sports, especially during tournaments, but Jude is living the dream by simply playing the sport for fun. He doesn’t compete competitively, so he regularly practices with his dad by playing fun drills; recently Jude has practiced by effortlessly potting the balls without the white.
Jude’s parents’ focus is supporting their little boy, so they manage all his socials and emails, giving a perspective on how popular Jude has quickly become. Jude puts hard work into the sports he enjoys and gets excited when he gains recognition for his achievements from others outside his family.
It is widely acknowledged that Jude has a certain type of confidence, as if he is already a pro snooker player. This natural confidence was evident when Jude did the ‘snooker walk-on’ at the UK Championship, which is one of the top three events in world snooker, and shook the referee’s hand like he’s done it a hundred times before.
Jude has come a long way since starting playing pool on a mini table but he and his family have faced many challenges along the way; Luke has previously been vocal about the struggles of finding a venue that will allow a child to play on their pool tables, and whilst respecting the venue rules, Luke never wants to disappoint Jude. A greater challenge the family has experienced is sourcing the correct equipment for Jude that is the right size for him to properly play.
They first found themselves giving Jude the top half of an adult cue that screwed in the middle – meaning it had no weight to it – but he still effortlessly potted balls whilst wobbling on a bar stool. Now, Jude receives a little assistance with a sturdy stool and a telescoping rest that ensures he can take out-of-reach shots rather than moving the white across the table, which also helps him to gradually adjust to the strict rules of snooker.
Jude’s journey has been difficult, especially with the consideration of the family providing everything themselves. Sports are known to be a worldwide, encouraging and sociable activity; it is argued that children’s equipment should be more accessible to those like Jude who love playing sports such as pool and snooker.
Jude may have started out with worse equipment than what he has now, but it didn’t falter his skill. Due to most players starting between the ages of 7 and 10, Jude has got a head-start in the sports, giving him plenty of breathing space.
Luke has said how he has “never seen a kid so obsessed with a sport” and believes that Jude will have the ability when he’s older to be “hopefully snooker world champion” but is still excited to see what the journey brings, even if that means Jude going down a different path when he’s older, which the family will support regardless.
For now, Jude’s journey has brought him to winning two Guinness World Records, which he has received floods of positivity for. Luke has voiced his opinion by saying it’s simply the “proudest thing possible for a dad” to see his son succeed in the sports he loves most.
Jude has inspired many people across the globe with his exceptional skill. He shows everyone that nothing, not even age, can stop you from doing what you really love.
