Residents across Tameside are invited to welcome the new season at a special Community Green Open Day in Dukinfield later this month.
Taking place on Saturday 21st March from 1pm to 4pm, the event will be held at Community Green Allotment, Meadow Lane, Dukinfield, SK16 4AN. The afternoon promises a celebration of spring, community spirit and all things green.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful allotment site, meet members of the local community and take part in a range of nature-based activities suitable for all ages.
There will be light refreshments available, along with plenty of family-friendly attractions including an Easter egg hunt, a quiz, and a variety of demonstrations throughout the afternoon.
Organisers are also hosting hands-on activities such as composting workshops, seed sowing sessions and nature exploration, giving attendees the chance to pick up practical gardening tips and learn more about sustainable growing. Younger visitors can enjoy dedicated children’s craft activities, making it an ideal event for families.
The Open Day also offers a chance to find out more about the wide range of regular activities taking place at Community Green and other LEAP sites throughout 2026.
Weekly sessions include:
