Waterloo and Taunton Conservative Club in Ashton-under-Lyne has been spreading more than just Valentine’s cheer this February, after members came together to raise funds for a local mental health charity close to their hearts.
On Valentine’s Day, the club raffled off two signed football frames, with members digging deep to support the Anthony Seddon Fund. The initiative proved a great success, raising a fantastic £180.00 for the Ashton-based charity.
The Anthony Seddon Fund provides vital mental health support within the community, including peer support services that help individuals manage their mental wellbeing in a safe and understanding environment.
Club Chairman Leon Tamcken said the decision to support the charity was an easy one.
“The Anthony Seddon Fund does so much to support our members, especially the peer support to manage mental health. We wanted to thank the charity and support them,” he said.
The raffle created plenty of excitement among members, with congratulations going to the two lucky winners, Kevin Goddard and George Biddle, who each took home one of the signed football frames.
