Students at Ashton Sixth Form College are celebrating another year of exceptional A-Level, vocational, and T-Level results, with smiles and plans for exciting futures taking centre stage.
The college proudly announced a stellar overall A-Level pass rate of 98%, with more than half of all grades awarded at A*-B, and an impressive 80% at A*-C. Vocational students were equally outstanding, boasting a 99% pass rate across all courses, with a remarkable 80% achieving either Distinction or Distinction*.
The newly introduced T-Level qualifications also saw fantastic results, with 100% of students achieving at least a Merit and almost half securing a Distinction. In total, 30 courses across the college achieved a 100% pass rate, reflecting the college’s consistent commitment to academic excellence and student support.
Among this year’s top achievers is Cerys, who secured A* grades in Maths and Further Maths, an A in Biology, an A in Computer Science, and an A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She’s heading to the University of Durham to study Maths.
Her mum shared with the Reporter, “I’m incredibly proud, she’s worked really really hard, and it paid off in the end. So, I’m really proud of her.”

Lily is also celebrating after achieving A* grades in English Literature, History and her EPQ, plus an A in Geography. She’s earned a place at the University of Cambridge to study English. Reflecting on her hard work, Lily said: “I revised from January, about three hours every day until the end of the exams in June. I was not letting that offer go.”
Phillip is taking a different path, achieving straight A grades in Business, Accounting, and Media Studies. He’s off to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds to study Dance - a testament to the college’s support for creative and vocational pathways.
In vocational subjects, Isobel earned two Distinction* grades and a Distinction in BTEC Health and Social Care. She’ll be attending the University of Manchester, but first, she plans to celebrate in true student style: “I’m going clubbing tonight with my friends!”
Ewan combined academic and vocational success, achieving an A* in 3D Design and Technology, a B in Computer Science, a Distinction in Digital Games Production, and a B in his EPQ. He’s off to the University of Liverpool to study Architecture, making the big move away from home.
Meanwhile, Jake is pursuing his passion in gaming, with a place at the University of Salford to study Games Design and Production, after securing a Merit in Digital Games Production, and C grades in Geography and Film Studies.
Lisa Richards, Principal at Ashton Sixth Form College said: “What a fabulous set of results from our 2025 cohort. They have worked incredibly hard, and I am so proud of what they have all achieved in their A-Levels, T-Levels and vocational qualifications.
“These superb grades will set them up well for their next steps, whether that is university, an apprenticeship or employment with training and I look forward to hearing about their future successes.
“In addition to their qualifications, our leavers have contributed hugely to college life over the past two years and have developed massively on a personal level. I would like to thank them for what they brought to our community, and I hope that they leave us with lovely memories of their time here.
“Thanks also to our wonderful staff for their excellent teaching and the many ways in which they have supported our students to achieve these results. I appreciate what they do and I know our students do too.”
