Battle of the Bands to rock Manchester in aid of mental health charity

An exciting night of live music and community spirit is set to take over Manchester this April, as The Anthony Seddon Fund hosts a special charity Battle of the Bands at the iconic Co-op Live BACKSTAGE CLUB.

Taking place on Thursday 23 April 2026, the event will showcase four talented up-and-coming local bands - The Drop Jonnies, Sugar for the Bee, STRANGE WOMAN, and MOLI - as they compete in an electrifying evening of live performances.

Each act will battle it out on stage for a range of exciting prizes, including exclusive studio time at Co-op Live, promising a night filled with big sounds, fierce competition, and an unforgettable atmosphere.

More than just a music event, the evening carries a powerful purpose. All proceeds will go directly towards supporting the vital work of The Anthony Seddon Fund, which provides a safe and welcoming community space for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The charity also offers specialist crisis support and bereavement services for those affected by suicide across Greater Manchester.

Jason, Community Engagement Coordinator at the charity, highlighted the importance of the event: “We’re incredibly proud to be working in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University and the Year 2 Event Management students (Blend Events) to bring this awesome event to the people of Manchester. Not only does it showcase amazing local talent, but it brings our community together to support mental health in a powerful and positive way.”
