Ashton born Corrie star Sue Devaney is preparing to film her final storyline as she leaves Britain's most famous street.
Sue, who has appeared in Coronation Street on and off for more decades as Debbie Webster, will depart the ITV soap in a hard-hitting storyline after being written out.
Fifty-seven-year-old Sue, who also appeared in Dinnerladies, joined the soap as the teenage Debbie in 1984.
She stayed for just a year but returned in 2019 and has been a favourite with viewers ever since.
But now Coronation Street bosses have revealed the popular character will leave the show after being diagnosed with dementia.
Her story line is expected to run throughout the year and into early 2026.
